Conservation Commission is established under RSA 36-A to provide for “the proper utilization and protection of the natural resources and for the protection of watershed resources of said city or town.” The Commission spends some of their time reviewing and investigating proposed wetlands alterations of new construction within the Town. Commission consists of 7 members and 3 alternates and meets monthly on the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:00 P.M. in Town Hall.
Planning Board The Board’s authority stems from RSA 673:1 and one of the Board’s functions are “to prepare and amend from time to time a master plan to guide the development of the municipality” as per RSA 674:1. In addition, the Planning Board has the “authority to make investigations and recommendations which relate to the planning and development of the municipality.” The Board consists of 7 members and 3 alternates and meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. in Town Hall.
Zoning Board of Adjustment, also referred to as the Board of Appeals, is a quasi-judicial board authorized under RSA 673:1 to hear four types of cases: (1) variances; (2) special exceptions; (3) equitable waiver of dimensional requirements; and (4) appeals of administrative decisions. The Zoning Board of Adjustment meets regularly on the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall meeting room. The ZBA consists of five full voting members and three alternates.
Recreation Commission is charged with overseeing and coordinating official town recreational activities and facilities.
